I lost my father several years ago and just recently
my sister who was only 26 years old died and I feel like I am losing
control of my life. I live in the San Diego area and we do not
have any Good Grief Groups in this area. Are there any groups
that are close to here, if not, do you know of any other resources
that I might call. Michelle, California

There are no organized Good Grief Groups in the
San Diego area at this time. Until a group is formed there,
there are several resources that I would recommend to you. There
are several wonderful hospice programs there and most hospices
provide support for the families of their patients. Many will
welcome other community members into their groups. You could
also contact the Pastoral Care Department of a local hospital
for the names of other groups that meet in San Diego. I would
also recommend Compassionate Friends, a national support group
that helps families who have lost children. Most Compassionate
Friends welcome parents and siblings of deceased children.
If you know of a hospital, church, funeral home or others organizations who would be interested in starting a Good Grief Group in your area, I would be happy to help them. Just have them visit our web site for more information. |
